The place BarangayBaviera was once covered with thick forest where wild pigs and other wild animals abound in this area. It is located in the southwestern part at the foot of ShermanHill. Before the Second World War, tall big trees were cut down by workers of the Insular Lumber Company (ILCO) for it was under the concession with the Philippine Government. After leaving the area, sometime in 1932, a businessman by the name of FaustoBaviera cleared the area by making kaingins and planted the place with root crops, rice, cassava and others. Being a businessman he likewise gathered products like rattan, hagnaya and balao and sold these products in BarangayParaiso a progressive barangay of Sagay.
When the government released the area as an Alienable & Disposable (agricultural land) immediately Mr. FaustoBaviera applied for ownership and was approved in his name. He donated two (2) hectares of land for a school site and other two (2) hectares for barrio site. The place became a chartered barrio sometime in 1936 and was named Baviera. Group of people settled in this area and built their temporary houses. Adult education classes were first organized in 1939 under the efforts of Mr. FaustoBaviera and the former Mayor Jose B. Puey, Sr. and later a grade school was opened bearing the name Baviera Elementary School.
Barangay Baviera is located 17.0 kilometers away from the Poblacion of Sagay City. The barangay proper has an elevation of 166 meters above sea level per record of NAMRIA.
It is bounded on theNorth Eastern by Barangay Campo Himoga-an &Barangay Bato, both of Sagay City; on the South Eastern by BarangayMaquiling, Sagay City; on the South Western by Pinamintigan River and on the North Western by Barangay Sewahon I and Barangay Tadlong, both of Sagay City.
It has a total land area of 1,876.3300 hectares. Based on the latest Comprehensive Land Use Plan (CLUP) of Sagay City for the period of 2006 to 2015, the land area of barangay are classified as follows, to wit;

Sagay City has a tropical climate with season not very pronounced, relatively dry from November to April and wet during the rest of the year.

Per computation as of latest Census Population the population density of Barangay Baviera is 1.39 persons/hectare or 139 persons/square kilometers.
Barangay Baviera has a total registered voters of 1,423, with eight (8) precinct numbers as of July 30, 2016 per record of Commission on Elections (COMELEC)Sagay City.
Roman Catholic is predominantly scattered to this particular area interspersed with some groups of other sects such as Baptist and Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints or Mormons.
Barangay Baviera celebrates its annual fiesta every May 29 to 31 spearheaded by men and women of catholic faith.
Most of the populace in the barangay speaks Ilonggo but they can understand Cebuano and Tagalog dialects. English is fairly spoken as general language especially foreign business.
Labor and Employment:
Basically, the mass labor and employment force of the people are engaged insugarcane plantation.
Barangay Baviera is a rural barangay and economy depends on agriculture. Some residents have sari-sari stores scattered in some puroks to augment their livelihood everyday.
Record showed at NEGOSYO CENTER (One Stop Shop Office ) of Sagay City, Barangay Baviera has only one (1) approved business license permit for the year 2016.The Buy & Sell Lumber Dealer.

Barangay Baviera has two (2) Public Elementary Schools. Per record of Department of Education, Division of Sagay, the total enrollees as of school year 2016- 2017,are as follows, to wit;
- Pacol Elementary School has a total enrollees of 59 students. Preparatory level has 6 students and Elementary level has 53 students.
- Baviera Elementary School has a total enrollees of 466 students. Preparatory level has 42 students and Elementary level has 424 students.
BarangayBaviera has one (1) Health Station manned by one (1) midwife,eighteen (18) Barangay Health Workers and three (3) Day Care Centers for the kids. It has one (1) Barangay Nutrition Scholar.
Barangay has one (1) covered court for recreational and sports activities.
The local mode of transportation is by means of tricycles and jeepneys while one multi-purpose vehicle is available during emergency cases.
Some residents availed their electrification through NONECO and others use batteries and generators for their power consumption.
Majority of the residents obtained their water from deep wells.
